Barton Keeps Spinning

I don't even know where to begin with this video.  Instead I will just defer to folks like Warren Throckmorton and Michael Coulter.  Maybe Jon Rowe and Chris Rodda will have something to say about it as well.

Barton's book is currently ranked #31 at Amazon. It is really sad that the American past is being manipulated for political propaganda in this way.  I say this as an historian and an evangelical Christian.

Doing a little research on Barton, and am under the impression that much of what he says about the value of history and the usefulness of Jesus' teachings for civic life are 'correct.' If you took 7 out of 10 things he says about the importance of history, the value of civic morality, you can inform a rich vision for public culture. And I say this as a non-believer, a progressive, and one who is concerned by what Barton is up to. And so a thorough debunking of Barton entails the price of abandoning Christianity as a resource for countering the rampant greed and anomie of our time. Thoughts?
