Glenn Beck: "Purchase More Farmland!"

Glenn Beck tells his audience to "get the hell out of the east" and buy farmland in conservative counties where public schools are not indoctrinating students in socialism.  He urges people to live with other "like-minded people."  He urges us to load our guns and "don't forget the ammunition."

This is a strange mix of paranoia, NRA rhetoric, Jeffersonian republicanism (if you can call it that), and right-wing anti-socialism.  It is also anti-democratic.  The kind of isolationism Beck is calling for will do nothing to strengthen our democracy.  Democracy requires conversation and engagement with those with whom we differ.  Beck is acting like a little child who did not get his way (on November 6) and now he is taking his ball and going off to his farmland.

So far, taxes have stayed the same or gone down under Obama, and government spending (according to Forbes) has not been so low since Eisenhower.

On another not, is that a replica of the Oval Office in the background?

Glenn Beck does nothing but pander to a certain crowd that like him lacks analytical thinking skills beyond the concept of "I Want" and "Me, me, me." His books are works of polemical fiction. He, like David Barton, make money hand over fist because they know what their audience desires. If we went back to the 1800s Beck would be a travelling medicine salesman.

Jimmy, you're giving him to much credit. I don't think he's a charlatan. He's just as ignorant as the people who listen, except he's a talented and charismatic communicator.
