Historians and the Digital Image

I am going to have to take some time--perhaps over the holiday break--to read through the links in this post, but I recommend them to you now.  The American Historical Association has posted a forum on doing history with digital images.  The articles are very hands-on.  They cover things like scanning, digital interfaces, DIY image management, and DevonThink.  I am not sure I understand all of this, but I am convinced it is important and I want to learn more.
