Springsteen and Storytelling

Leave it to Paul Harvey of Religion in American History fame to connect my AHA posts on storytelling (here and here) with my recent post on the best Bruce Springsteen songs of all time.  Brilliant!

Earlier today on my Facebook page Paul noted that four of the top five Springsteen songs are "narrative history/storytelling par excellence."  (This is particularly the case, Paul notes, with "Thunder Road" and "Incident on 57th Street."  I would also say "Jungleland").  He correctly notes that most of the top 10 use storytelling "to make the point, hence their popularity."

I think this is the Facebook post of the year!  Thanks, Paul.
