A.T. Coates Blogs His Prelims

One of the things I like to do here at The Way of Improvement Leads Home is call your attention to new and interesting blogs (or at least blogs that are new and interesting to me).

If you are a graduate student in American religious history, particularly one who has yet to take comps, then A.T. Coates's blog, "The Prelims Progress," is must reading.  Coates is a PhD student in American Religion working with David Morgan at Duke  He posts short reviews of the books he is reading for his preliminary exams.  If you head over to the blog you can find reviews (books and articles) by William James, Catherine Albanese, H. Richard Niebuhr, David Bebbington, Francis Schaeffer, Ernest Sandeen, Mark Noll, Kelly Baker, Paul Gutjahr, Joel Osteen, Hal Lindsey, Bruce Lawrence, Kathryn Lofton, J. Gresham Machen, Martin Marty, Yaakov Ariel, Charles Colson, Paul Boyer, Matthew Sutton, and Susan Harding.  Check it out.
