I have also managed to squeeze in a few speaking engagements and conferences. Here is where I will be:
May 27, 2014: I will be talking about Philip Vickers Fithian and the American Revolution at the Revolutionary War Roundtable of Bergen County, New Jersey. This event is open to the public and will be held at 6pm at the Iron Horse Restaurant in Westwood, NJ.
May 28, 2014: I will be heading up to Boston where I will deliver the commencement address at Boston Trinity Academy.
June 6-8, 2014: I will be back in my own stomping grounds of Valparaiso, IN where I will be attending a conference devoted to the 20th anniversary of Mark Schwehn's Exiles from Eden: Religion and the Academic Vocation in America. It will be good to see old friends from the Lilly Fellows Program in Arts and Humanities at Valparaiso University.
June 16, 19, 2014: I will be at Messiah College leading a two-day seminar on American colonial history for local school teachers. The seminar is part of the "Teachers as Scholars" program run by the Messiah College Center for Public Humanities. I believe that it is not too late to sign-up.
July 27-August 2, 2014: I will be at Princeton University leading a Gilder-Lehrman Institute of American History summer seminar on "The 13 Colonies" for K-8 teachers from across the country.
I hope to run across some Way of Improvement Leads Home readers along the way!
