Is a "Valley Forge American" someone willing to serve his or her country in difficult times, like the soldiers of the Continental Army in the winter of 1777-1778? Why are only some Republicans "Valley Forge Americans?" Is Parks the only one who uses this phrase?
By the way, the Speaker of the House does not have to be an elected member of the House of Representatives. This means that it is possible for Gingrich--apparently a true "Valley Forge American"-- to return to his former post.
